BLOG : Smashing the Stereotype
The stereotypical view of people with disabilities is one that is highly detrimental. We are often thought of as helpless, with no goals, no desires, no ability to think, unable to become productive citizens in our society. As a result, the individualistic control that should be a right of every person of age is stripped away from us without any regard to what we can actually do. Concepts, in my opinion, helps to change that misperception. It changes it by giving back what is taken away. It affords us the opportunity to live life. We are able to pick and choose those we trust with our care, our privacy, and helping us carry out our day to day responsibilities. It helps us go to school, go to work, have social lives and be involved in things that are important to us. It allows us to experience the joys of being free. Personally, Concepts has been instrumental in letting me live in the greatest city in the World. I am forever grateful to Concepts for infinitely adding to the quality of life for myself and many many others.
