Caring for someone you love is one of the most important jobs there is. CDPAP lets you be paid for that care — and we help you with all of the paperwork.
If you’re caring for a family member, friend, or neighbor who’s on Medicaid, you can become their paid caregiver. As a CDPAP personal assistant you’ll be paid through PPL, New York’s statewide fiscal intermediary, and we’re the local team that gets you set up and keeps you supported.
After a Consumer creates an associated profile for you – to get started you need to:
- Register with PPL through the PPL@Home portal — we’ll guide you through it
- Complete a quick health screening and physical exam – at a PPL contracted facility
- Clock in easily with the Time4Care app or by phone
- Get paid for the hours you work, with us in your corner to support you
Why work with Concepts of Independence?
- We helped create CDPAP in the 1980s, so we know the system inside out
- We’re a nonprofit (501(c)(3)) — supporting caregivers is our mission
- We offer real, multilingual call center with hands-on help
And there’s no cost to you to work with us. One quick note: a spouse, or a parent of a consumer under 21, can’t be the paid caregiver — but almost anyone else the consumer trusts can.
